ودام الفرح والسلام بينكم وبينكم
May joy and peace be with you and yours
May you find love to balance and redeem us from fear, joy to balance the terror of our nothingness, hope to balance despair, beauty to balance the horror of war and violence, vision and illumination with which to reimagine and transform ourselves and liberate us from systems of unequal power, and the faith to use all of this to heal the flaws of our humanity and the brokenness of the world.
As written by Kahlil Gibran in The Gravedigger; “Once, as I was burying one of my dead selves, the grave-digger came by and said to me, “Of all those who come here to bury, you alone I like.”
Said I, “You please me exceedingly, but why do you like me?”
“Because,” said he, “They come weeping and go weeping—you only come laughing and go laughing.”
In this celebration of Eid Al Fitr, love like you have laughed in the face of your executioner, bring joy, hope, and faith in solidarity with others
With Ramadan ends the time of truce, and as I now contemplate the possibilities for making mischief for tyrants such as Netanyahu and his criminal regime of genocide, ethnic cleansing, kleptocracy, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, questions of justice in its myriad forms and dimensions arise yet again to shape my ideas of struggle in the liberation of Palestine.
Herein a Gordian Knot of dilemmas and conflicting values, goals, and ideals shift and change like a mirage; bringing a Reckoning to perpetrators of violence and restoration of balance to their victims, in a world with few innocent and many who are both perpetrators and victims.

Be just unto the balance as Surah 55 Ar Rahman 9 of Holy Quran directs
How may we be just unto the balance with those who do not regard us as fellow human beings, and to whom all outsiders beyond whatever boundaries of us and them are not truly human and merit no human rights?
Where does the balance of justice and of our humanity lay?
When confronted by Rashomon Gate Events wherein we choose our fates and the sets of possibilities of becoming human within which we will live, how may we disambiguate that which exalts us from that which degrades and dehumanizes?
Always we are captives of the Wagnerian Ring of fear, power, and force, from which only love has the power to redeem us and return to us our souls.
In the end all that matters is what we do with our fear, and how we use our power.

ودام الفرح والسلام بينكم وبينكم
قد تجد الحب لتحقيق التوازن وتخليصنا من الخوف، والفرح لتحقيق التوازن بين الرعب من العدم لدينا، والأمل لتحقيق التوازن بين اليأس، والجمال لتحقيق التوازن بين رعب الحرب والعنف، والرؤية والإضاءة التي من خلالها لإعادة تصور وتحويل أنفسنا وتحريرنا من أنظمة القوة غير المتكافئة، والإيمان لاستخدام كل هذا لشفاء عيوب إنسانيتنا وانكسار العالم.
كما كتب جبران خليل جبران في حفار القبر؛ “ذات مرة، بينما كنت أدفن أحد موتاي، مر بي حفار القبور وقال لي: “من بين كل أولئك الذين يأتون إلى هنا للدفن، أنت وحدك الذي أحبه.”
فقلت: “أنت تسعدني كثيرًا، ولكن لماذا تحبني؟”
قال: «لأنهم يأتون يبكون ويذهبون يبكون، وأنت لا تأتي إلا ضاحكًا وتذهب ضاحكًا».
في هذا الاحتفال بعيد الفطر، أحب كما ضحكت في وجه جلادك، اجلب الفرح والأمل والإيمان بالتضامن مع الآخرين.
مع انتهاء شهر رمضان، ينتهي وقت الهدنة، وبينما أفكر الآن في احتمالات إحداث الأذى للطغاة مثل نتنياهو ونظامه الإجرامي المتمثل في الإبادة الجماعية والتطهير العرقي واللصوصية وجرائم الحرب والجرائم ضد الإنسانية، فإن أسئلة العدالة بأشكالها التي لا تعد ولا تحصى وتبرز الأبعاد مرة أخرى لتشكل أفكاري النضالية في تحرير فلسطين.
هنا، تتحول وتتغير عقدة من المعضلات والقيم والأهداف والمثل المتضاربة مثل السراب؛ محاسبة مرتكبي أعمال العنف واستعادة التوازن لضحاياهم، في عالم يقل فيه الأبرياء ويكثر فيه الجناة والضحايا.

كيف يمكننا أن نكون عادلين في التوازن مع أولئك الذين لا ينظرون إلينا كبشر، والذين يعتبرون أن جميع الغرباء، خارج حدودنا وبينهم، ليسوا بشرًا حقًا ولا يستحقون أي حقوق إنسانية؟
أين يكمن ميزان العدالة وإنسانيتنا؟
عندما نواجه أحداث بوابة راشومون حيث نختار مصائرنا ومجموعات احتمالات أن نصبح بشرًا والتي سنعيش فيها، كيف يمكننا إزالة الغموض عما يرفعنا عما يحط من قدرنا ويجردنا من إنسانيتنا؟
نحن دائمًا أسرى لخاتم الخوف والقوة والقوة الفاغنري، والذي منه فقط الحب لديه القدرة على تخليصنا وإعادة أرواحنا إلينا.
في النهاية، كل ما يهم هو ما نفعله بمخاوفنا، وكيف نستخدم قوتنا.
